DARVPA

Home Page

Welcome to the Digital Archive for Research in the Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Chichester. This site contains information about current and past research activity in the School of Visual and Performing Arts. The school has an established practice-led research culture with individual academic-practitioners in dance, fine art, music and performing arts regularly producing critically informed research artifacts - performances, installations, theatre stagings, concerts -in addition to the conventional, published modes of research. You can explore the research activity of individuals working within the areas of dance, performing arts, fine art and music by following the named links in each subject field listed under Research at Chichester.

A principal aim of DARVPA is to enable the documentation of a variety of practice-led research and to this end we have created a series of audio-visual recordings that may be streamed from this site to your computer. There are also photographs and slide-shows of key moments from performances that may be viewed, and which can be made available by email on request. Recordings of visiting theatre, dance and performance companies are currently available by following the Digital Assets link. It is our intention to build this archive section, which has already proven useful to researchers, practitioners and undergraduate students, into a more substantial resource by creating a network of contributing universities and venues.
